Website Development
Let Us Help Guide You
Building a website is a process! Webcrafter strives to make that process as simple as possible for all of our clients. The information you find on this page will help to illuminate the website development journey you will embark on. We broke it down into the six major milestones (domain, hosting, design, develop, revise, and advertise) so you know exactly what to expect!
What's a Domain?
The “Domain” is simply the name of your website! It is also referred to as, “Domain Name”, “Website Address”, and “URL”. The following is an example of a Domain: www.web-crafter.com
Getting your Domain is the first thing you must consider when building a website. Ideally, the name of your website should be the same name as your business and e-mail address.
By the way, if you’ve ever tried to create a new e-mail address, you know it can be a hassle finding a unique e-mail address. Unfortunately, getting a Domain name has that same hurdle! So it’s important to secure a Domain as soon as you can before someone else steals it.

What's Hosting?
Simply put, a “Host” is a computer that stores your website information. That computer (the host) is always on and it is always ready to send your website information to anyone who wants to go to your website. Hosting is required for all websites.
Webcrafter believes that the website we build for our client BELONGS to our client, so having us manage your hosting for you is optional. However, navigating the hosting platforms can be difficult, so Webcrafter is happy to take hosting off your hands if you prefer!
There are many Hosting Companies out there and they all charge a monthly or yearly fee to keep your website live. We will help you choose a Hosting Company that will give you the most bang for your buck!
Website Design
Designing a website is just as much work as actually building it! We listen to our client’s vision for the website, we ask a lot of questions, we collect the client’s materials (product pictures, logos, etc.) then we build the website.
Website design is not exactly a linear process. Some clients prefer we take the wheel with design and some clients like to be more involved. Whatever the case may be, you can rest assured that we will work with you every step of the way to make sure you like the result! We can always add, subtract, or modify the content on your website as we go along.

Now that Webcrafter has the blueprint for your website’s design, we can go to work on building your website! Here are some of things we implement in every website we create:

Revise
During the development of your website (and after) there will be things you will want to change to fine-tune your website’s design. We understand how important it is to get your website the way you want it before you start spending money on advertising. The Revision Stage is the last step before your website goes out to the world!
Advertise
You could have the best website in the world for a business that everyone needs, but without advertising, nobody will ever see it. Webcrafter can help you with that! We can set up your social media platforms to accurately reflect your branding and website. We can also set up ad campaigns that target the very people who are most likely to spend money on your business.
